I have just listened to this and made a few notes. Simon Mayo interviewed Billy primarily about his work on Misterstourworm. He began the interview with playing a little bit of Billy's narration, (I hadn't heard it, and it sounded great), and then Billy said how much he enjoyed doing it, and how much the music had touched him. He recorded the narration separately for the disk. He also mentioned Jack, and how much Jack listens to it, and loves it.
They spoke a little bit about New Zealand, and also about The Flying Scotsman. Billy was asked if he was thinking about getting involved in directing. He said he would possibly love to do it at some point, but at the moment he is quite happy being a director.
Simon Mayo played another piece of music (not Billy narrating) which he thought was from Misterstourworm, but Billy thought it was a song that was also on the disk, but not from Misterstourworm, but by the same composer.
Simon Mayo finished up by asking Billy what was next for him? Billy mentioned having just finished making "Carmel the Movie", and how much he had enjoyed making it. Simon Mayo pointed out that there are more live performances of Misterstourworm coming up, and Billy said that he would love to do it again if possible.
So. A short interview, but cute. And always good to hear Billys' voice.
