Here's some info about Cottiers --
http://www.belhavenhotel.com/theatres/cottiers.htm Set within a splendid converted 19th Century church in Glasgow's West End, Cottiers Theatre is undoubtedly Glasgow's best kept secret. This 350-capacity theatre showcases an excellent array of performances ranging from comedy to classical concerts and sensational acoustic sets. The adjacent Cottiers Bar and Restaurant are the retreat for pre-theatre dining or aperitifs. The restaurant is one of Glasgow's well established eateries offering exclusive Scottish and Latin American fusion cuisine to patrons. Cottiers Theatre opened to the public in 1994 and is a special venue to many Westenders and Glaswegians for its traditional Victorian architecture and design. The theatre was awarded a grant of £1.8M by The Heritage Lottery Fund for extensive restoration of the exterior and unique interior. An extensive programme of high-profile performances have appeared at Cottiers, from drama to comedy and traditional music to contemporary pop and rock. Numerous internationally renowned lived acts and music stars have performed at the theatre over the years including The Dubliners, The Cranberries, The Divine Comedy, The Beautiful South, Texas and Gabrielle, each performing to a full audience. In the comedy circuit, Mark Thomas and Phil Jupitus have also topped the bill at Cottiers along with a rich plethora of theatre and opera companies such as the critically acclaimed Scottish Opera and local production company, Boilerhouse. The West End Festival, BBC Live Music and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival have also staged events and performances at this unique venue. Despite the limited technical resources, heating and small capacity, its lively and convivial ambience compensates the venue's shortfalls. The building is regarded as a site of international significance to the history of art and will continue to thrive as an integral theatre in Glasgow's lively West End district. |

I'd love to go but I think everything is far away from here! Also not certain how well pop could handle a trip across the Atlantic & I don't think
the airlines/any country/hotel would be enamored with Tika the Wolf, who can't be left save for short periods of time. All things in their own time....

That's great that it went so well! Now to find a way for those deprived of the fun to catch a glimpse of it. Even if they came stateside, my ability to go
to any venue has been drastically reduced for so long, not to mention this is rather the boonies. I can dream, however, & who knows what tomorrow holds?
Ok, so the years of constant venues are done but seems I still need to concern with sitters - for Tika & pop this time 'round. Time to pay back my son,
I think....
