It's a step down from the CCU but still a specialist cardiac ward in the same hospital. She was moved this afternoon. She is tired, but quite chatty. I left her busy perusing the menu. LOL. Today has been the first solid food she has had since Friday. So. It seems that she didn't have a heart attack after all, but heart failure. I know you nursies will understand. http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/23068755/ She is in a single side room at the moment which is quite nice. But to add to our problems. My uncle, who was at the hospital this afternoon with my older aunt, and who has been so good running everyone around is now at the QMC ER in Nottingham with my other aunt, his wife. Whilst he was away at the hospital she slipped and fell in the house and has broken her arm. It never rains but it pours!

And yes...the Nursies DO know what heart failure is. Thank goodness this was taken care of quickly. I'm glad she's feeling better... (The miracle of Lasix! LOL!) But, You're so right...it never rains, but it pours! We have been dealing with a tragedy here also. A very good friend of Devon's passed away. She was only 14, and we still don't know all the details, but had been in the hospital for what we had last heard was pneumonia.(???!!!) I'm sure there were extenuating circumstances, but we may never know. It's been very hard dealing with and trying to explain why someone so young died of something like that. She was a bright and adorable girl, who called here often. She and Devon had been friends for several years, and he teasingly would often ask me if I could 'adopt' her too, since she was like a sister to him. He is trying to be brave, but is understandably devistated. All my comforting words of "Motherly Wisdom" can't explain why she died. Visiting hours and funeral services will probably be Wednesday and Thursday.... It is going to be a really tough week. Constance ...

I shall need to spend a fair amount of time this weekend getting that sort of thing caught up myself. Tomorrow will be my last day of work this week - I have the following week off for vacation time. This vacation will involve not going anywhere out of town, and I look forward to feeling good while home this time. I hope things have calmed down for you.xx
