It's not good news at all I am afraid. Basically what happened is this. I went to see Mum in the care home this morning. She wasn't great, but was talking quite nicely and we had a good conversation. She was struggling with the heat a bit as it is very humid here now. Anway I left her after about three quarters of a hour and said I would see her on Monday as my brother was going to see her tomorrow before they went on holiday on Monday.

I went home and had some lunch, did some cleaning and then began to start to get stuff ready for tonight. The plan was that I went up to Jason's and then we were going to see The Mustangs tonight at a gig in Skegby. I was really looking forward to it because I missed the last night out owing to Mum being in hospital. I was in the middle of an email to my brother to update him on today's visit and then I was going to head for the shower when the phone rang. It was my uncle telling me that he and my aunt were up at the care home and Mum was very unwell. He came down to get me in the car, and we arrived and the paramedics were with her, and then the ambulance turned up. We followed the ambulance to the City Hospital here and I left the care home to ring my brother.

After a lot of wandering around we found out that she had been taken to the corony care unit, and was dangerously ill. It appears that she has probably had a heart attack, and fluid was on her lungs which was causing pneumonia. They have started to try and drain the fluid off and she is resting a little more easily. My brother had to go home but my sister in law came across and stopped with us all. We have just come home, and i am dreading getting a phone call during the night.

I will update you all as and when I can but at the moment things are very touch and go. I am distraught. My Dad died in the same hospital, just up the corridor.
