Congrats on the engagement!! Perhaps a virtual bachelorette party will be in order.
Will try to make it over to check out the pix, Elaine. Moving very rough this morn, trying to catch up plus have a MD dinner at the kids' this afternoon. Hoping I can walk/drive well enough to get there....

A wee bit scattered. Trying to talk pop into a trip back to CA to see his sis. She called Saturday, sounded very bad. She's got Parkinson's, has had it
for nearly 20 years, & has failed to take the bull by the horns which one must do to live with this horrid disease. She called to tell him she's dying
& wants to see him again. From what my cousins tell me, she's foul with everyone, only speaking lovingly of pop. Attitude is a good chunk of managing
this & hers isn't very good. Now to at least get him to call her every few days, perhaps boost her mood somewhat. He's not been very faithful with
the calls since the New Year, stubborn, & she needs something to give her a shot in the arm. I'm concerned about all, with Tika getting worse by the
day & I'd have to leave her with the kids; I'm not certain they'd take proper care of her at this stage of her life & know they
wouldn't cook for her like I do.
Hope all the moms had a wonderful Mother's Day! My d-i-l had us over, cooked a lovely dinner, & we brought Tika to play with her "cousins," tho she had a hard time getting in & out of the car & I'm no good at lifting 120 lbs., not to mention the claws are no good on leather seats. My son got a techie job, which is great news; only pt to start, 32 hrs/week, but they want him in management since he's got a few degrees. It also looks like he'll be a bouncer for a friend's new night club 4 or 5 nights a week - one of the wonders of giving birth to a child who is twice the size of either parent, I guess - & it's a very nice club, rather top-notch as opposed to the usual tittie bars in the area. Taking the d-i-l shopping tomorrow to get her some interview clothes so all is moving in the right direction finally. Busy & crazed. Hoping for some light to shine on the situation with my aunt soon. I can hear my gran telling me pop has got to go see her soon....

Well, I went back to the Dr today for a clearance back to work.
Not gonna happen. My hand is not healed enough to return with all the strenuous things I do. There is some inflammation under the skin still, and it is still healing. That explains the sharp pains I have been having if I do too much. Duh... He told me normally the time off after Carpal Tunnel surgery is 4-8 weeks. (Why he first said I could go back after three weeks is beyond me...he KNOWS what I do at work!)
So... While I do wish my hand would hurry up and heal... My mini vacation has been extended a bit.

You take care Constance. The type of work you do you shouldn't be going anywhere.
Well, from next week I shall only be half a receptionist. They still haven't put the advert in for a full time receptionist, (which is the job that I want to apply for). So they have extended the temps hours, and I shall be back on the ward for half of the day. Are they trying to tell me something? LOL. One small victory though. I ahve convinced management that the reception need only to be open 8.30-4.30 each day.

Keeping the candle lit for that job, Elaine. It's gotten chilly here, too, temps down to the 70s, dropping lower with cold north winds. Even got a wee bit
of rain, very unusual for May here; more slated for today & tomorrow. Estimates are for a heavier than normal monsoon season & "experts" have
predicted a period of cooling for the next 15-20 years. Let's hope volcanic activity doesn't increase as well....
Hoping the hand heals well, Connie; you're in my thoughts for plenty of healing but enjoy your time off! Hoping to feel well enough to begin more chores today, need to get Nic some meds as he's sick. My To Do list just keeps growing....

Yeah....
Global warming my
The temps here have been WAY below normal. 40's and 50's instead of the normal 60's-70's degree highs for the middle of May! Constance ...

It was the coldest April since records have been kept, about 140 years. Also one of the coldest winters in more than 30 years. Common sense dictates one does
not shit where one eats, hence it's in everyone's favor to be kind to Mother Nature, but I truly hate the alarmists. Back when I became an
environmentalist (more than 30 years ago), it was cooling that was the headline. Now our lovely elected crooks want to shove crap down our throats which will
make it even harder for many to make ends meet - like the mandatory ethanol from corn when native switchgrass makes a higher quality & virtually covered
the plains ages ago. There's also a tropical liana in Amazonia which, with minimal effort, can be cultivated & produces as much as the highest quality
industrial grade seed oil - that will put money in the hands of the local people instead of corrupt governments. Somebody please shove an apple in Al
Gore's mouth, put him on a spit & roast his butt (no, I don't like him but that's a personal issue as he stood up a large group of
environmentalists 15 years ago in order to attend an expensive dinner with fat-cats). Where is the true help? Things like incentives that could grow
"green" industry, increase employment opportunties & get us energy independent? How about tax credits for those who put in alternative energy
into their homes? No, let's just play to the sound bite in an election year, pitting side against side, dividing Americans. Take them all out back &
just shoot them. Yes, Tombstone mentality when it comes to the pols, I'm afraid. I'm just sick & tired of those who play to fears instead of
tapping the incredible wealth of knowledge & ingenuity of THE PEOPLE to solve these issues, building walls instead of bringing them down. I'm for
voting out all incumbents come election time but, for pres, it seems we've got Huey, Dewey & Lewie for choices, all of which suck dirty canal water....

The weather here is amazing! I have to use sunblocker everytime I leave the house. That´s not normal for Germany! Friends of mine are in Spain on holiday and
they are pretty annoyed right now, because its raining the whole time where they are and at home-SUNSHINE!
